Welcome to the Chronurgist Guide! Join me as I talk you through what you can expect from the class, and walk you through an example build for the Chronurgy Magic Arcane Tradition, from level 1 through level 20.
What is a Chronurgy Magic Wizard?
Your trade is Dunamancy magic – you are a student of the art of controlling reality itself, with a special focus on time. Here are the features that you'll get as part of this arcane tradition.

All of your class features point towards a controller role on the battlefield – this means you aren't always going to be firing off offensive spells, but you'll be looking for opportunities to keep encounters manageable.
It's worth saying, though, that you can build a Chronurgist however you want – they can do all-out offence too if you want, and have their subclass features up their sleeve for emergencies.
Tier 1 (1-4): You are everyone's favourite support character. You can deal damage, but Chronal Shift and Fortune's Favour have the chance to be star players and really characterise your choice of subclass. Just keep yourself alive and start twiddling with other people's dice whenever you can! When you can't, your play style is up to you.
Tier 2 (5-10): You are a wrench in the enemy's plans. You have access to some high damage area of effect spells which means you've grown some pretty sharp teeth. You have the power to assess what's happening on the battlefield and ruin your enemy's plans. Counterspell adds to the trouble you could already cause them, and you've got access to a much wider range of control spells.
Tier 3 (11-16): The flavour kicks into high gear! You can now use your dice roll altering powers to potentially cause your enemies to fail saving throws when you cast your most damaging spells, both in terms of outright damage and control. You're still versatile as Wizards will always be, so you can choose to hone the amount of damage you can pump out turn by turn or you can really look at a suite of devastating control spells.
Tier 4 (17-20): The gloves are off – you get your level 9 spell slot and so Wish and Time Ravage become open, the two most flavourful choices from the list. Beyond that, you are a Swiss Army knife – you can tool yourself up for pretty much any encounter you want and cause heinous damage or control the battlefield like an absolute boss.
